I’m a Mexican food fan so I was looking forward to finally trying Ghost. Chips and salsa (both hot and mild) were very good. The guacamole could have used a little more spice. La Pina Margarita was surprisingly very nice -not too sweet. The chicken tamales were awesome. It was nice to see that they made the beans into real dish-they were very good. Minor issue-The restaurant is very loud.
Very fresh and delicious Mexican cuisine with a little elevation than a traditional place. Down side is everything is a la carte with the chips & salsa, sour cream, etc.
This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Macomb area. I absolutely love their street style flour tortilla tacos with ground beef and a side of their fantastic street corn (I prefer off the cob but they serve it both ways). They have delicious homemade guacamole to go with their yummy chips and salsa. For those with a sweet tooth like me, save room for dessert because their Tres Leches is out of this world (photo attached)! The perfect size for sharing. The staff is as good as the food. You are waited on promptly, chips & salsa come right away, meal is timed perfectly and the servers are personable and professional. I hope this place stays around for a very long time because it’s amazing!
There are 6 waiters and 7 people behind the bar, we were seated promptly, given menus and water and then we waited, and waited and you get the picture. A couple that arrived after us was served first. After 10 minutes a waitress finally arrived. Once we placed our orders the drinks arrive fairly quickly.
Alexa was a great waitress and we appreciated her service.
A lot of the staff was spending a lot of time huddled together talking or looking at phones. The staff was also unfamiliar with the actual Happy Hours hours. All signage said Monday thru Friday 4-6 pm but we were told Monday thru Thursday. We eventually chatted with the manager and they told us it was programmed into the registers as happy hour so we received the correct pricing.
There is a slight difference between the menu on their Google Maps information and profile. The atmosphere and food was great, the staff just need to be trained a little better. They I'd the main reason for a 2 star review.
For starters there was a piece of hair in my salsa, which was just gross! Than my noodle bowl looked appetizing however there was clumps of noodles inside that was hidden at the bottom and I wasn’t about the eat the Juice inside the noodles was cold like it was made a min ago, the birria tacos I got were barely warm and filled with more cheese than anything, my steak tacos shell was just wet and soggy, let’s just say the hottest thing on the table was the queso cheese they brought out. Our waiter was okay, not to key on keeping us updated on our food or anything. So yea this was a basics taco place nothing really authentic about it. I don’t think I’ll be back due to the constant errors! I’ll stick with my armondos instead! Thanks for having us tho.
Ordered shrimp tacos, first batch came out and had what looked like grilled shrimp in them. The server dropped the dish upsidedown on the table. At first he stood there looking at the mess he just created, didn't offer to clean it up. After I asked him to clean it up he grabbed a napkin. The replacement shrimp tacos came out much quicker than the first, it then became obvious why. The shrimp are pre cooked with no seasoning. It tasted about as bland as it looked. Won't be back. Much better places in the area.
I came here yesterday with my mom, they said happy hour was going on and it was two dollars off tacos and drinks. I did not see chimichanga on the menu, so I asked the waiter If there was chimichanga, he replied, yes. He brought out the food, and it was just a burrito filled with rice and beans, no meat. I’m not sure if he knew what a chimichanga was but when I asked him about it, he said this is how we make our chimichangas, it’s a burrito that’s fried. We weren’t happy about that bc we would’ve gotten something else. He didn’t offer to change it or take it off the bill. Or even for that matter, admit that it was not a chimichanga.
When the bill came, happy hour discount wasn’t applied I had to ask him to change the bill. He also charged me $20 for the chimichanga when it was a burrito and that costs like $15.
If you don’t have a specific item, let me know and be transparent. Also, sounded like they were promoting a happy hour that they didn’t wanna enforce.
There is outdoor dining. The service is good, the hostess handles the take out and seated guests very quickly. Wednesday at 5:30, the place started getting busy after 6pm. There are 10 booths with one in the corner that can seat about 7-8 people. I had three veggie tacos, that tasted good but I could not find sweet potatoes that were supposed to be in them. To be fair, there is a separate sweet potato taco available. The veggie tacos can easily be made vegan, while the sweet potato taco has queso fresco on it. While you wait for your order, they serve a generous plate of chips and two flavors of salsa that was very good. While they do have a few monitors hanging around the bar area, the rest of the place was comfortable and a good place to go for conversation. The menu has a good variety of Mexican and American favorites that includes beef, chicken, pork, chorizo, shrimp, and cod. This is Detroit-style Mexican cuisine that lets you kick up your nachos to Botana style. They do have a ramen bowl here, but it is not included in the soup list.
